Expertise Extension Unit manages and administers:

  1. The Academic Staff Training Scheme and Academic Staff Higher Education Scheme as a means to increase competence in the development of academic staff. This scheme also aims to help increase the number of UniMAP’s lecturers with Ph.D qualification in accordance with the requirements and policies of the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        
  2. Administrative Staff Study Leave Scheme for the Management & Professional and Support Group to pursue their First Degree, Masters or Ph.D.                                                                                                      
  3. Preparatory course such as IELTS Workshop and Test; and Transformation Program for staff who will continue their studies abroad.                                                                                                                      
  4. Professional Engineers Scheme to increase the number of academic staff with professional qualifications.                                                                                                                                                            
  5. Sabbatical Leave Scheme aims to encourage lecturers to conduct research and interact with research groups outside the Universiti Malaysia Perlis either within or outside Malaysia.



Schemes Under Expertise Extension Unit

  1. Academic Staff Higher Education Scheme - Academic Staff Higher Education Scheme provides opportunities for academic staff to pursue Masters and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by sponsoring them under scholarships sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE) and other scholarships.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               
  2. The Academic Staff Training Scheme - The scheme sponsors potential and qualified candidates to pursue Masters and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in tertiary institutions outside or in the country under SLAB/SLAI scholarships organized by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE).                                                                                                                                                                                                     
  3. Professional Engineers Scheme - The scheme is established to produce good attitude and competent professional engineers through technical education and smart partnerships between the University and industries.

 

Objectives

  1. Provide efficient and quality Mind Transformation Programmes, Services Examination and Incentive Examination Financial Functions [ BITK ] that can help management to plan and implement the objectives of the Department of the Registrar.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     
  2. Manage all matters concerning Mind Transformation Program , Service Examination and Incentive Examination Financial Functions [ BITK ].                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  
  3. Provide appropriate policies consistent with the requirements of Mind Transformation Programme , Service Examination and Incentive Examination Financial Functions [ BITK ] according to guidelines set by the Department of Public Service .
